Pulled them out of a early 90's Caddilac, looks better than the CS2 covers used on T Types/GNs IMO. It looks like I need to trim part of the metal bracket on the bottom but should work. If anybody is using these what size speaker can you use, the caddy had a 4 to 5" square speaker in the door but it looed to have room to spare.

OK, I made a prototype out of a spare door panel. It required more trimming than I cared to do but it looks good. Only thing I would really do different that I did is I would leave about an inch of plastic along the bottom of the panel where the carpet is. Now to do it on a good panel and either carpet or dye the whole panel to match.

If you have power windows and don't mind doing the extra work I put a 6-1/2" in my upper door panel where the power window switch was, I moved the switch down to the lower panel (harness is long enough) and made a new upper door panel to match the interior. There is only minor metal trimming to fit the speaker but sound quality is far better than something near the floor. I used component speakers with tweeters where the 3-1/2" dash speakers were.

I don't have power windows or locks. I'm not "into" speaker quality but I do like a good sounding speaker, your interior is a bit too custom for my tastes, I prefer something that looks close to stock or what GM would/should/could have done.

Well I guess nothing on my car looks stock lol. They do sell lower door panels that come moulded with a spot for a 5-1/4" speaker or you could always go with a kick panel speaker.

I love your interior.. Not a fan of the gauges but they beat idiot lights.. I just installed a set od Image Dynamic horns underneath my dash.. I thought about putting horn tweeter where you put your 6.5's.. What do you hace as rear fill, 4x10's, 6x9's or nothing at all?

I have the roll bars going through the original speaker holes in the deck so I cut new ones and installed some 6 x 9 3 way pioneers back there. As far as the gauges I have a lot of motor and believe there is no such thing as too much info when it comes to monitering it.

Do the 6.5's interfere with the windows by being there? I'd like to improve my front stage & kick~panels aren't an option considering I have waveguide speakers under my dash already & territory is limited..

No, there is no interferance with the windows at all , obviously you would check your clearance but if I remember correctly mine there was still room behind the magnet(I installed these 10 years ago) because the glass curves away from the interior towards the door skin. If they were too close it would scratch my window tint and let me know the hard way.
