i went to ABT to get some replacement 3 1/2" speakers for my elky and they wanted like 90 bucks for a pair, and i was broke, so to my suprize i found some decent ones at autozone for like 12 bucks a pop. i installed them and now im happy. i also got some 6x9 speakers in boxes from a pawn shop for like 65 bucks for the set. it sounds ok but my exhaust is so loud you really cant tell the quality, its just loud enough to hear it.

I have a set of 3.5in old school MB Quart QM 100 speakers/tweeters with crossovers rated at 30-80watts which i pulled from a El Camino a few years back and i must admit they sound really good for their age. If your going to go through all the work of pulling the dash like my GP then i would put the best speakers i can afford... I bought a set of factory replacement Alpines and the MB's give them a run for ther money! My Gp also has a center speaker cutout and when i was driving it i had 2 Boston Acoustics 3in speakers mounted and they sounded ok. This time i plan on installing the MB's off a 4 channel amp.
