That frame sounds like a monster thing to put under an Olds. Rack and Pinion steering was another thing i was looking into which it has. The price is definately a huge factor, considering the IRS is another 9 Gs. But the IRS it has is plenty strong. At least they say. haha But the Jaguar IRS sounds like a cool route to go as well. I was unaware that they put a Dana 44 under those things. Definately something to think about. The thing that I like about that frame though is how much easier it would make the job. Getting a clean slate minus the body is aready half the battle over, provided one has the cash. Money isn't a big nusiance considering I'm basicly going to be housed, fed, and medicaly taken care of by the U.S. government for the next 6-20 years. Haven't decided yet. haha There will be plenty of money to save. But I'd definately go with the 3.25 ratio on the differential for max top speed. If possible, just go balls out on a build like this, ground up, get the rotisserie, get out the sandblaster, the oxy-acetelyne. I'm going to order the parts while I'm away, and when I get my leave for 4 weeks a year, spend that time workin on the beast. haha That's the plan at least. There's a lot of options to consider. Plenty of nights to ponder ideas.

A co-worker of mine actually had a jaguar when he was in high school. He put a converted it to SBC back in the 70's before there were conversion kits. He put a hopped up 400 in it. He would go through u joints and half shafts every couple months, and once ripped the control arms out of the frame from the burnouts. But the actual center section had at least 500k miles on it and it held up, probably because its a Dana 44.

Actually, yea, one of the users on here put a C4 rear into his Regal.
Took LOTS of fab work but it's awesome even just to look at.
If you really want an "Oldsborghini" then save up for this:

The price definitely isn't playing around, but neither is the chassis. Optional Heidts IRS, 200% stiffer frame, 119lbs lighter, and any other goodies you can afford to throw on. If I was rich I'd blow money on this for sure. The owner of that blue Monte Carlo actually has an account on here.

Place is not to far from me, 15 miles away... I may consider this for my twin turbo DX '88 H/O 8)
Maybe they'll work with me on just a frame setup for IRS and I can buy as I build... right now I have the engine block, interior, Hurst Aero kit and all the blackout trim and NOS stuff.
I am currently looking for a Sunroof optioned '88 Cutlass Supreme Classic to get started.

Have you checked out pro-touring and lateral-g.com? There's a whole bunch out there to give you some ideas. There is no limit depending on fabrication skills and money. There's a guy on p-t doing an interesting build on his camaro using the entire IRS out of a 350Z.
