I took of the old intake with the original bolts still in the holes and laid it on my garage floor. My daughter came in and removed all the bolts from the old intake now I don't know how I am suppose to put them back in since they are all different lengths. I messed up can anybody help me out? Also what am I suppose to torque my bolt down too? I my putting on an edelbrock intake with edelbrock intake bolts.
Well the short bolts obviously go in the middle 4 holes so that's that. All the other ones are the long ones. The only ones that you really need to concern yourself with are the studs. If your running the CCC system, then I know 2 studs go in the last 2 holes near the firewall on the passenger side. The other 2 studs go on the front somewhwere ( one on each side ) and are used for accessory brackets. I don't remember the exact locations but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Just mock up where your brackets go and should be obvious you need a stud 'on this one' for the bracket to bolt to. If you realize you have a stud in the wrong place, just swap it around afterward. No big deal.
I don't know if Edelbrock requires a different torque spec or torque sequence, but for a factory 307, they're 15 ft lbs then go around again and torque em to 40. Start at the corners and work your way to the middle.
