the exhaust crossover?....do you mean the egr port?
if you do mean the egr port and your not going to be installing an egr then you need to stuff those ports in the heads with aluminum foil so the heat doesn't flow up to overheat the intake
the crossover in the intake should be plugged for performance reasons. it scavenges exhaust from head to head and does heat up the intake. most good intakes dont have the crossover runners in them.
and it makes it hard to really tune by plug with exhaust going from head to head...
