I have always used SEM paint but I have never used adhesive promotor on any interior parts when using it. I just clean with a general purpose cleaner first if it's really dirty and if not I go straight to SEM Plastic Prep. Then a few light coats of the SEM color and after that I finish it off with SEM low luster clear for protection without being too shiny. I've done many cars this way and my Monte I did 3 years ago, every interior panel is painted camel and the dash and console are tuxedo black and still looks fresh.
