Just curious about the intermittent wiper system on the '78-'81 A/G body. This is the system that has the wiper switch on the dash, with the pulse adjustment built into the switch. Is this system specific to these cars in those years only, or is there another GM vehicle which used the same system? If you were going to retrofit the intermittent wiper system to a car that was originally equipped with just the regular 2 speed wiper system, what parts would you need? Do you just need the switch, or do you need the switch, wiper motor, and wiring? Is the wiring for the intermittent wipers separate from the main vehicle wiring harness, or is it part of the main harness? Thanks in advance.

you need the correct switch for your vehicle it may be used in other g bodys the delay wiper motor from the big cars is the same you only need to run one wire to make delay work if i remember it is a green wire i had the schematic somewhere i probably did 10-15 of them on montes back in the 80s dave

Thanks TurboAudi. If you could find & post a copy of the schematic, that would be great. I suspected that the motor from a full size car would work, but I wasn't sure.

I have done quite a few of these swaps and they are all different. For one, its more than just a single green wire lead....there's a rheostat delay timer built into wiper motor that controls the delay for each speed. Send me your email and I can send you a pic from one of my shop manuals....each of the three at least did it slightly different-by three I'm referring to BOP besides Chevrolet.
