Is Fatmat Sound Deadener Any Good?

I will say that there is one limitation to any sound deadening in these cars: Aerodynamic noise. The way the window is inset from the door instead of being flush will make wind noise no matter how much sound absorbent material you put in. It's the one thing that will keep it from being as quiet as a late model luxury car. They do, after all, have a Coefficient of Drag of .45-.50, as compared to the .28 or so the average new car has. I wish it were not so, but sadly it is one thing you can't change cheaply.

That being said, thanks for the recommendation! I will probably buy the 100 sq/ft package for $90 they have on Ebay and use that.

So how much would you have saved with the Fatmat vs the Dynamat?

I would have saved a ton!! I bought 400 sqft of Fatmat for $130 off of ebay back then. Fatmat cost more now, but nowhere near as much as Dmat Xtreme. Turned out to be a pretty expensive comparison test for me :x

Yeah bro. Give it a try. Like I said, when I build my next Monte SS, I'm rollin with Fatmat. I didnt see any huge difference between the two... Hope you post some pics up of it when you lay it down bro..

Believe me, there will be pics. I have around 300 pics of my build so far, with around 150 on my Myspace page.
