Is it just me, or does this guy want a bit much?

Now if it were a certifiable real '78 SS, pristine with low miles.... Maybe, just maybe. But I'm talking showroom concours type of stuff.... Kinda like this:

http://www.oldride.com/classic_cars/598409.html <--- :notworthy:

But that thing is just another hacked up Franken-G... Just because its 30 yrs old and goes fast doesn't mean its priceless! 😀

I also doubt it was ever a true SS, at least you'd never know it. It looks like its had a later MCSS dash put in, its got a split bench front seat, the door panels look like a luxo model... and that trans tunnel looks like its been enlarged for some ungodly reason.

Whether or not its SS is besides the point. Judging from the pics, it looks like a nicely built car (except for that monster tach). But it was his first car, so that's why the price is up there. Now if it had 4 disc big brakes, AFX spindles, 8.5 or 12 bolt rear, flawless paint, then yes it would close to $18 or so, but I would buy this rather than some 170hp 350 concours factory car any day.

sounds to me like the guy doesnt want to sell it but if someone were to give im asking price he would. i have seen similar deals and the car has sold.

In cases like this I always suspect that the wife is making him sell.

"But honey, I TRIED to sell it..."

i don't know. he might $15k in the engine or something. hey, what makes a 69 camaro that's completely redone with an ls1 and 4l60e worth $100k? the cars from overhaulin' are showing up on ebay for $75k and more.

nice car but the problem is the 400 SB....it's rare to see a 400 cause they have an overheating problem and that only gets worse the more you build up the engine.....

I might pay 15k, only after I drove it and gave it a thorough inspection.
