Hello all, just joined and hoping you can help me out!
I have a 1980 El Camino SS, and wondering how to confirm if it's a real Royal Knight or not? I've decoded the VIN but that didn't solve anything. It has the Royal Knight Grill and Carmel interior, but none of the RK specific decals.
Only have the pic on my profile for now. Any info would help!
Thanks!

I'm not certain what you mean by Royal Knight grille? As far as I know the Royal Knight got the same grille as any other El Camino/Malibu in 1980...

In order to find out if it is a Royal Knight you're probably going to have to send info to GM Heritage..

I did for my 79 Royal Knight and rec'd the documentation on it. Royal Knight RPO code was Z16.

If your's is an SS then I don't think it can also be a Royal Knight, the two of them are trim packages.

I'm not sure thats right, mine is a Royal Knight and it is a SS the super sport emblem is in the dash on right side above glove box
