Is my car rare?

So i got bored today at work and looked up the production numbers for Monte carlo's and found out there was only 16,204 SS Monte Carlo's in 88, Does this make my car rare? i hope not because there's not a whole lot original on my car now

And on an ironic update, still bored, still at work, and i just looked up the production numbers for my camaro, in 73 they only made 16,133 RS models, what are the chances? lol

The fact that it's the last year of the RWD Monte SS makes it more desirable I would say. Rare?........ no. (not yet anyhow)

Now, if you had 1 of only 200 1986 Aerocoupe SS's made.... that's rare.

not rare yet. i feel g bodies have not come into there own. they made 19000 69 z28s. there considered rare. i own a few rareitys not realized. 1976 trans am 455 4 speed top car. one of 110. 84 hurst olds. one of 3500. 2003 mach 1. azure blue. one of 2100 cars. and a 69 gto convert. just cause they made so few doesnt mean value. just less people wanted them new.

i'm not sure how it works it terms of value, but there were no production 88 monte's. they are actually all 87's.

Sorry to throw water on your fire but just because a car had limited production numbers (ie not a success in the marketplace) doesn't mean high value. There's plenty of examples of that.

i'm not sure how it works it terms of value, but there were no production 88 monte's. they are actually all 87's.

That is a little known fact, even among monte owners. The 88's were actually just the tail end of the 87 production run. With the planned end of the g-body platform in 87, yet strong demand for the car, the decision was made to extend production through mid December 1987.

Buick, Olds, and Chevy all made g-bodies late into 87, but they each approached it differently:
Monte Carlos were labeled as 88 because there was no planned FWD replacement for the next year.
Regals held on to the 87 designation, even though they were manufactured into mid December 1987. (You could actually buy an 87 Regal/GN that came off of the assembly line after an 88 monte).
End of the year Cutlass's were labeled as the 1988 Cutlass Classic to distiguish it from its FWD counterpart.
