The only ones I recollect as slantbacks were from Olds called "Cutlass Salon" (Not to be confused with any other style Cutlass Salon but that is what they called it) and the Buick Century. The Century version was made in both two and four door slantback models. No slantback A/G's were made with the Chevy or Pontiac name as far as I know. Those cars really should be worth more than what their book value is if in good condition as they are very scarse due to low production numbers. They are something you can't just get a wad of money in hand and go out and buy like you could with just about any so called "popular" collector car.

yeah believe it or not I have occassionally seen some of those around here in the past and will prolly eventually run into more in the future, maybe even for sale, but I've never really slowed down to think about anything with them as they are kinda, well, different?!

I've always found it much more fun to be different than to run with the ordinary or popular crowd. 😱 Like with my motorcycle buddies for instance- they get pissed off when my '81 Honda CX500D attracts more attention from someone rather than their $20k+ new wanna-be classic Harleys with chrome and stupid-azz fringe LOL! Gotta put straight pipes on them to attract noise attention, because they won't get it any other way riding what have become such mundane bikes. To me, how much noise a motorcycle makes only shows how weak its owner is trying to drown out the actual mecahanical sounds an engine makes, the things that should truly fascinate them if they knew what they were.

Go to enough car shows you'll find G body Monte SS'es, 442's, Hurst's to be plentiful. Also every kind of G body coupe with a hopped up SBC. Does the word boring come to mind? I would rather own something no one else has even if it isn't so to say "as good." I'd rather gut my car to the skeleton and refurbish it myself or build my own bike rather than own some pretty rich boy thing from OCC or Boyd. But that is me 😀

Moral of my story? I just wish there were more leaders than followers with cars and bikes, it would make things much more interesting 😛

I agree with Uncletruck. I always want to be different. I don't care if I am driving a Yenko Camaro, if one like it pulls up next to me at the light, I am going to be disappointed (I'd get over it real quick if anyone is giving one away). I went with a GP because in the 80's when these were new(wer) all of my friends had 3 Cutlasses, a Regal, and a Monte. I didn't know anyone with a GP. I still don't see many GP's around here (Cleveland).

More to the point - Wasn't there a Cadillac G-Body? I have not seen one in years, but I could have sworn at least one year of the Seville was a G. I don't mean the slant back years, as I believe those were B's or a derivative thereof. A four door only that looked a lot like a cutlass 4dr. Now that would seem a rare G, and a potentially neat muscle car. Add a Northstar (I know pain/ expensive to make rwd - but it is a fantasy), a set of caddy chrome wheels, pearl white paint, and some STS emblems.

I can remember parking my 1979 AMC Spirit GT at a cruise night after a HUGE car show. I got more attention that the Chevelle and 56 Chevy I was between, despite my car being cheaper to build because it was an oddball. I was definitely loving that! It's odd, but tasteful if that makes any sense.

I don't need validation from a bunch of guys hanging around.
I do what I want for my own self-satisfaction.

Yeah me too but don't forget, the guys hanging around might decide weather you go home with a trophy or not. 8)

been one for sale on Kijiji here in toronto for some time. The cars are pretty rare but Fugly as well.
