Wow...that is a really clean car for being in NE. Usually all the MA cars (or wherever state you are in) the body is rusted out or the frame is junk. how does it look underneath?

Haven't been able to look at it yet. It's an hour away. When I really think about it, I should put the $3500 into getting our stupid driveway re-paved. I'd love to get the car, but I should put money towards the house that has depreciated 40K in the past two years.

Damn

I look at it this way, you can do your driveway any time but cars like this are hard to find

A nice clean car is very rare these days . 301's can be made to run very well, and a '79 has no smog pump so that's a plus too. Here's my take- a 2 barrel with dead rear gears will drive better than a 4 barrel with dead gears because it's balanced. But change the rear gears and either will come alive, and then the 4 barrel really shines. This is true for all the small GM motors of that era, 301, 305, 307. Do not decline just because of the motor.Check out this 301 site. http://www.301garage.com/forum/index.php

my driveway is screwed up as well and needs parts of it redone. but my regal project comes first dammit!

very nice regal! you'll always regret it if you pass on it..JMO
