Anyone using one of these? http://www.jegs.com/i/Jegster/550/41053/10002/-1

I had one for a TH350 before, but wonder if this one will work as an alternative to the more expensive ones designed for the 200-4R since the trans mounting points are pretty much the same. I asked their tech dept about it and they didn't do any fitment with the 200-4R and claimed it would work on pre-83 frames without the extension.

That is what I used On my 1978 Olds. A 200r4 cross member will fit with a 400 trans. Since your car is a pre 83 you will need a frame extender for the drivers side . You will have to modify a stock cross member for duel exhaust. Or you could buy the cross member from jegs and frame extender. The 350 crossmember has different mounting point and will not work on a 200r4 or 400 trans. Hope that helps

Thanks for the response but that's not what I'm trying to find out. Maybe I didn't ask the right question from the jump.
Jegs claims it fits 78-88 and they make no mention of needing an extension. I asked they're tech dept and they seemed to guess-timate that bolts in pre-83 cars.

So.....here's the deal. I want to put a 200-4R in my car with this crossmember. I know G-force uses the extension for theirs. I'm assuming the Jeg's one needs it to for pre-83 regardless of what their tech guy said.

Well I'm going to go out on a limb and giving it a shot. I already ordered some parts so I'll return with an update when I have an answer.
