Got some Rust Mort on my color matched patch panel. This piece isn't in the greatest shape but it's what I have. I can't believe the aftermarket still doesn't reproduce this section.

I'm gonna have to get crafty when it comes to welding it in. It's not gonna be easy to clamp and my access to the seam where it was spot welded to the inner rocker will be limited. Any thoughts and ideas are welcome.

Any progress is good. I hope to see more soon. I'm in a similar place and hope to get back to it.

Also finally got to read the entire thread. Nice read, was that the factory color?

Weld a L shaped lip to the inner rocker, cut the lip off the patch. Then just lap it over and spot weld it down. Fill the seam with sealer and nobody will ever know.

This is a fantastic idea. I think i should more than enough Dodge tailgate to do the job. Appreciate it!

Okay everyone. Morbid post time. Unfortunately it's time for me to own up to reality. I don't have the time or interest to finish this car. Space is now at a premium and I can't just keep it on the backburner any longer. I'm making the difficult decision to part out what I have. Everything except the engine will be for sale. I'm going to hold on to the engine as it doesn't take up a lot of room and I can save it for a future project. If anyone is interested in anything- interior, body parts, etc. Let me know. I have the pretty much the whole car in pieces. Doors, dash, new floor pans, bumpers, bumper fillers, lights, turbo hood, frame, decklid, seats, interior panels, etc.

I would prefer local pickup on most parts but shipping may be able to be arranged. Thanks guys.

Man, that is not how this story is supposed to end.🙁

That is a bummer, when I started on this site yours was 1 of the first threads I read.
Now be ready for stuff like this, parting it out on marketplace. Keep in mind this is an ad for silverado catalytic converters. But I made the mistake and caught 1 wheel in the pic.

Believe me it's not the ending I wanted. The story isn't entirely over though because I am saving the engine and my hope is to eventually find a clean roller with no rust and good paint and interior that I can work with.

Oh the tirekicking has already started. I think that's part of what kept me holding out this long. Honestly though I think its for the best. I'll be able to get a fresh start on a better car.

PM me some pics of the bumpers and bumper fillers if you can. Or tell me a page number to look for them.

Is the frame good, fair or very good?

I'll get some pictures for you tomorrow. They are the rigid fiberglass kind. They have a couple chips from taking the bumpers off and on but they aren't broken.

The frame is average. It had a couple frame repair washers welded onto it. It needs a piece of metal where the transmission crossmember sits on one side but it's not that bad IMO. The rear rails are nice. I can get pictures.
