But my post said that these restricted shows make me wish I had the money to organize and run my own show that is restricted to 1973 and newer vehicles. I feel that people reguard anything newer than 72 as not being worthy of being restored or modified. I got that a lot with my 76 Monte when I discussed giving it more performance. A guy at Murray Chevrolet said "I wouldn't bother with THAT car. Its too heavy. Several years later here it is with a 350 horse 350 crate engine and 3.73 gears putting down consistant mid-14 second ETs.. Not bad for a car that's "too heavy."
