Just a rant

Dunno. Posted it, then I deleted it.

But my post said that these restricted shows make me wish I had the money to organize and run my own show that is restricted to 1973 and newer vehicles. I feel that people reguard anything newer than 72 as not being worthy of being restored or modified. I got that a lot with my 76 Monte when I discussed giving it more performance. A guy at Murray Chevrolet said "I wouldn't bother with THAT car. Its too heavy. Several years later here it is with a 350 horse 350 crate engine and 3.73 gears putting down consistant mid-14 second ETs.. Not bad for a car that's "too heavy."

Hey Chris!!
I loved the look of that Monte that started this topic.. Not sure what got turned around at the Show... other than the 81 Cutlass.. On another post the Cutlass lady has her kids writing a grocery list on the hood of the car.. That is kinda cool, but not really looking for a rolling blackboard... Any way, Like I said, I love a LOT of the G body cars.. Have had a bunch myself!! Had a 70 Monte SS 454, my first new car was a 76 Regal S/R, Had a 82 GP and have a 85 442, Grey, silver bottom, silver interior, t roof car. A friend has an 87 442 with a glass slider.. ULTRA rare.. I think 1 of 2 in Canada in 87..Also the last year for them...All blue car, with original paint, exhaust and about everything else.. Another friend has an 87 Monte SS, Also original paint and EVERYTHING, and I think less than 10,000 miles on it.. Wicked awesome.. Another just bought an 86 Monte SS.. Interesting thing here is, I have the Grey 442 (worst one of the bunch) One of my volunteers has the blue 87 442, the head Drive through Judge has the 87 SS, and Darrin, our loooonnnng time Committee Member and the Guy who lets everyone in the front gates just bought the 86... So I think you can see, we surely aint prejudice towards the G bodies!!!! Send me some pics of the T type... Oh... I really like the look of the white GP on here.. kinda bad boy racer.. Howcum I am so doggone GM crazy? Well, My Dad worked for Lawson Motors in SJ for 40 + years...I wus weened on GM muscle... First car out of high school? 65 Beaumont SD....Nuttin in driveway says anything but GM!! Daughter is worse than me!! Sorry about all this noise....
