Thanks guys, it looks pretty good in the pics but it needs quite a bit of body work (rust under vinyl top), a headliner, sunroof and more. I will make a thread and post along the way!

Very sweet looking Bu 8)

That is a nice looking ride.
I have a sunroof out of a 79 Grand Am. But it's in Iowa and I'm not.....until later this year.
It is >30 years old, so if you can find an aftermarket sunroof that fits in the original opening, I'd suggest going with that.

aww sh*t chris u got sum competition going on :lightsab: . for the sunroof i would get sum duck tape and a thick piece of plastic and call it ah day  jk man sorry i cant help but as far as ur car u got urself ah nice one thr bud and yeah welcome
he's clowning me with the 4 speed and 305.. i gotta upgrade

really nice ride.....if your stuck for the sunroof cut a piece of lexan to fit for now and seal it with some silicone, then you can take your time to find what you want...

Welcome aboard! Nice looking Malibu. It's a shame about the sunroof. Why someone would discard the roof panel is beyond any rational thinking. I would look for the original panel. That would be my first choice. However, I like PontiacGP's temporary solution. After all, you have to fill that opening with something. Don't install one of those flip up sunroofs.

Here's another option. Although alittle pricey, but cool never the less. http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/2010/A ... -Sunroofs/ I had an early VW bug with the same type of sun roof.
They were also used on the '70-'72 Buick Sun coupe. I think it would look cool on your car. It would be different.

Hi Shwagg this may be your lucky day. i do have a steel sunroof and seal for a 1978 monte carlo.
like yours it had a 305 4spd with factory sunroof. in 1992 i went to a GM parts counter and bought a new sunroof and seal but never put it in.
unfortunatly i dont have the car any more, but i do still have a never used sunroof and seal in near mint condition.
i dont know if it will fit your car but if you still need one it may work.

If that is a factory sunroof i do have complete with glass and frame. If worse comes to worse the fwd olds and caddy demensions sunroofs are the same good luck
