sorry I post so much about my car not working Anyways...

After I drive my car, when I put it in park and turn it off, the key only goes back one click. I have to put it in reverse (while it's off), then back to park. Then the key turns back all the way and I can take it out.

Any idea on what this might be? Sorry if it's hard to understand. I'll take a short video of it when I get home and post it so you can see it.

Next time you try it, instead of putting it in reverse, try turning the 'collar' on the steering column with you left hand while you turn the key with your right. Is your car floor shift?

Yes, it's floor shift. And thanks

I'm thinking there is some slop in the linkage that connects the floir shift to the column. Maybe a rotten bushing?

I'm sure that the safety linkage that run up the firewall perpendicular just needs some adjustment at the bottom..

Okay, thank you. Would I just need to remove some of the dash and the cover of the steering column?

No, the problem is likely in the linkage at the base of the column, under the hood or where it attaches to the transmission.
