it does, you want the TV cable straight as it needs to be tight for correct operation/transmission life span.if that bracket mounts to the intake(i can't tell)i'd sung up an adjustable wrench on the very top of it and pull it towards the valve cover(slowly) to lessen the angle you've got.and see where you're at.i think you're still gonna be shopping for a better bracket though

sure some do but they're usually cheap and not well desgined,a lot of them don't work so well as they can actually move when the cable gets pulled.not all but some.

That's a GM bracket. It's missing the bolt on bracket for the kick down cable but I don't see the mounting holes where it bolts on.

I think your life would be a lot easier if you ditch the Edelbrock (and for sure don't buy a NEW one) and use a Quadrajet. No adapters, no aftermarket brackets, no guessing. Bolts on and hooks up like it was made for the car...because it was. A stock 305 really doesn't need anything else.

BUT, I gather from your postings that you're hell-bent on using an Edelbrock, so you should probably consult the Edelbrock catalog and see what bracketry/accessories they recommend for one of their carbs on your application. These accessories are usually noted in the footnotes of a given part
