Ok, so I stopped wasting my time in junkyards and found that O'Reilly's sells the sending unit for the TBI 4.3L V6 gbody. I ordered it and when it came in I checked it out before I bought it. I also asked to see fuel pump for a 1997 GMC Sierra K1500 5.7L V8, its part number FE0114 in pics. Both cost me $277 smh.

It looks to be an easy fuel pump swap. I'll take the fuel pump off the TBI 4.3L sending unit and replace it with the 5.7L fuel pump.

What I wanted to ask was if anybody sells the TBI 4.3L V6 gbody sending unit without the fuel pump already in it, because now I'll just have a brand new fuel pump for a TBI 4.3L just laying around.

Now I see that Advance and O'Reilly's sells the FG156A sending unit w/o the pump for $110.

Anybody know if there is anything else missing from this sending unit besides the fuel pump?

Can I just get this one and put the FE0114 pump on it?

I have an update on my swap. I got around to cleaning my L31 vortec, and swapping out the intake manifold plus timing the engine with an HEI and stripping the motor of sensors. I found out a few new things. As far as the motor mounts go at least on 2WD 1500 series Suburbans the motor mounts are the same as the car mounts if not slightly shorter (2.45" depth from the centerline of the hole to the base of the clamshell vs. 2.5" on F-Body & G-Body motor mounts. I had purchased a set of clamshells for a F-body thinking they were shorter (lowering the engine) vs. the truck mounts but after a direct comparison if anything they are slightly taller. Bare in mind this may be because this is a 2wd truck vs. 4wd. I was expecting the mounts to be 3.5 inches so I guess the stock truck mounts will work fine. Also after mounting the HEI and timing the motor the AC and the top of the HEI are about the same height which leads me to believe that the AC unit will most likely clear the hood without modification.

I'll put the carb on and start dropping the motor in, in the following weeks. I'll keep you guys posted.

A picture of my current engine bay is attached for reference.
