Hey everyone. I’m Joe coming Austin, Texas. I’m new to the forum and recently got a 87 Regal Limited. I’ve wanted a G Body since I was little and finally made it happen.

I am trying to find the molding that goes around the rear glass for the vinyl (landau) top. I’ve searched the forums and internet with no luck. If someone has one, knows where I can get it or even the part number / actual part name I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks y’all and I’m looking to participating the forum as work on my G Body.

Did someone rivet pieces around the back window? I have never seen that with a vinyl top install.
If you have ever seen what a vinyl top can do to the metal underneath, I would say that you are lucky and IMO just get the roof repaired and filled and keep the vinyl off.

I’ve seen the pictures of what it can do. I like the vinyl top look better and want to put it back on.

With the set up you have for the vinyl it doesn't look like factory molding is going to work there.

If you scratch the paint off I think you will find the crappy white plastic guides that were used back then. I had a 86 Cutlass same setup, but the previous owner just tore and then cut the old vinyl off, so around the windowed the crappy plastic trim.

Arizona sun kills it. If you want to go back to landau top. Work with local body shop get back to the regular non-landau trim around window and Rino coat it. It can be textured and colored or spray in white.

I don't have pics available, but my 91 Mercury had the factory top all dry rot and cracked. I coated it with black bed liner. This is more resistant to SW sun and it maintained the original texture and the seam lines. You can't tell the difference until you get right next to it.
