ok i changed to a OEM delay switch in dash i changed the motor to delay i've got the extra wire in the swithch far left brown stripped BUT i've read all the post here and at elcamino central this car did not come with the option harness this is a build to.. do i need to purchase the wiper delay relay ?? and confirm the delay module is not needed to also which is offered aftermarket... Thanks 78 grand prix application / This and adding Tach my refurbished 301 already in !!!

ok i see people been reading but no input here is what i found/ after taking dash down to hook up Tach there is a wiring block that was missing ... i got this out of a 83 suburban ...this plus now hooking up the wire to the distributor has my Tach working.. so i dont know is previous owner removed it or came off assembly line bare bones as a base LJ.. i;ll post more as i get it done

Re: last leg of wiper delay problem edit UPDATE

ok i'm gonna leave this up till the 4th of july just got finished installing my delay wiper motor and i thank ALL who gave input cause some is better than none but here was the problem...

first it's a base 78 LJ no frills.. the basic switch low high push for wash hard to the left for a cycle for mist...
78-79 has one switch that works with a 78-79 delay wiper motor AND wash with what the call pulse .. all the internals are there thanks to cordone with reman parts... the biggest issue i had after 3 motors from the parts store is the computers are not accurate and the people are not knowlegable... the wash has the extra pigtail 2 prong that activates the delay from the switch... so you have power 3 prong washer 2 prong And delay 2 prong .. proper switch plus reman motor 2 beers and a screw at 5 0'clock thats hard to get in 45min delay wiper that works PRICELESS !!! and again .... Thanks Chris G.. 😀
