Just put LED all around, save headlights (want to find some) and front turn signals (getting delivered Tuesday) in my 82 Olds Cutlass. Turn signals work, running lights work (so far), brake lights don't light up when I step on the pedal. Honestly couldn't say if they worked before the swap, will check that out tomorrow. My guess is bad brake light switch, which leads me into another rabbit hole...
The car came with cruise control and A/C. The motor was swapped by previous owner, A/C lines hacked off at the box. I swapped motors again (305 with dead cylinder vs 350 with 64cc heads... yeah baby!) but basically the computer is a paper weight, all emissions have been deleted (no charcoal canister, no MAP sensor) and it's a carborated 350 with better heads and a cam. Cruise control unit is still there, plugged in but speed-o cable bypasses it, but it never worked before I swapped Speed-O cable to bypass it.
So here's question number 2. Brake light switch... Do I need one for cruise control or can i get non cruise control and just plug it in? Guess part 2 would be can I get the cruise control to work without a charcoal canister?
Question 3 is where things get hazy. Best plan of action for transitioning from AC to non/AC. Already have a no-AC heater box (fiberglass that i bought off ebay) that will most likely need a little modification. Supposedly I don't need to change out my heater controls to make this box work, just need to add some extra plastic for direction. But I suspect my blower motor resistor is no good. I get heat, but lvl 4 and 2 are the same speed, 1 and 3 don't exist, and it doesn't change from window defrost, ever.... Maybe vacuum tubing is broken so the door doesn't move? But given fan speeds on settings, I'm thinking of changing out the resistor. So the question is which to buy? AC or no AC? I won't be adding AC back into the car, putting in the non AC unit would require changing the plug, but would it work with the AC control in the dash?
My best guess is I could finagle the cruise control by sending vacuum to the right ports, which I don't know...
And safe bet is AC controls in dash, keep AC resistor, and check my tubing.
If anyone has done this swap before, let me know what you did and how it worked out. I would rather not buy new controls and all the tubing, just change the box and call it good.
Wish list also includes posi rear end and a five speed.... just tossing that out there.

It could be a burnt fuse, do your hazards work?, The hazards and brake lites share the same fuse
