What's the best way to install a lift off hood . Please post your opinions and pics.

That's funny! I was thinking by selling it and buying a bolt on.

Aaaahhhhh haaaaaa hhhhhaaaaaa hhhhhhaaaaa , aaaaaahhh hhhhaaaa hhhhhaaa. Hilarious ...

if you do it yourself you're bound to chip the paint on the fenders... we throw the hood on the roof of our race car but I don't think you'd want to do that on a street car..

Honestly the only way to install one is using dzus fasteners and either welding or riviting brackets to your fenders and front end I believe it takes about 4 on the front and 3 on each fender to secure it. I pretty sure I seen kits for this in Jegs or Summit. I've never mounted one like this but it looks very time consuming to get it all lined up so I will stick with my bolt on.
I have seen people mount them using 4 hood pins on all 4 corners but it is probably not as secure but I'm sure it's much easier to install.
Good Luck with your install.

I installed a lift on my cutlass by just removing the old hood and hinges and then welded on the four hood pin stilt things in the right locations. It looks okay and is perfectly secure. My dad daily drove it that way for a while without ant problems.
