Has anyone tried the $165 Painless Wiring kit that comes with the pre-wired solenoid? Not sure why one would have to replace the lockup solenoid, but this kit includes a new pressure switch and vacuum switch.

That is the kit I run on my 700R4.. It works flawlessly and very smooth and responsive for engage/disengage. I tried one of the cheapo 4th gear only kits 1st and I had issues w/ it not always unlocking when I stopped quickly or accelerated rapidly.

Reason for a new solenoid is it is a two wire solenoid and some 700R4's have a one wire solenoid.

Hey, How did the install turn out?

I'm about the swap the t350 for a 200 4r in my wagon. Trying to narrow down which lockup kit to get. I'm leaning towards the TCI kit previously mentioned.

Stupid question: Can these trans/torque converters lock up up in any gear if you wanted them to? I could see the benefit of occasionally locking up in 3rd if you're not doing highway speeds. The kits sound like they're designed to only lockup in 4th though.

Sorry, but no update as of yet. Any day now, I plan to hit 'buy', but the K10 project is currently sucking the piggy bank dry.
