I guess I can't complain about the old one, it's 20 some years old. When you squeeze the handle it's hard as a rock and nothing comes out. If I can fix it, I can stick it out at the hangar, so for now I'm looking for a good grease gun. I like the style that has a one hand squeeze and the flexible hose coming off of it. What do you guys like?

I repair robots for a living. They take about 6 different greases. Some are as thick as the wheel bearing grease we know as Extreme Pressure and some as thin as pourable oil.
Most of us use Lincoln, the 1147 and some use the Alemite.

As for hose, pistol grip, lever or solid tubing. It really depends on what you are working on and your access to it. Piston grip is harder to pump thick grease into a tight cavity like a ball joint but one hand for trigger and one on the nozzle. A lever requires 2 hands to pump so I recommend they be used with a solid tube, no flex hose.

Don't mean to derail, but anyone tried one of those Lock and Lube couplers I keep seeing? Looks like even HF has their own version of it now.
