Looking for a shop to replace rear frame rails

I did the right rear frame rail on my 83. IMO there is no way to do it right without the body lifted off the frame a good 4-6". Or you could cut a big *ss hole in the trunk floor over it and patch it back up.

In my experience the cutting and welding of the frame rail wasn't the hard or tedious part. It was the body mounts that got me. If you're frame rails are bad enough to need replacing then you can expect to have to do some body mount work as well. I would see how hard the body mount bolts come out(if they do without snapping) to get an idea of how much work you have ahead. If you snap a body mount bolt or break the cage nut free now you gotta go from the top to fix it. All I can say is goodluck.

Actually if you use conrads kit you get new body mounts so no messing with broken bolts or cutting holes in your trunk. Everything can be done under the car

I called Howe motor works. They don't do it but they did recommend hi tech collision in their plaza saying that they do do it. So I'll let you all know what comes of that.
I am also getting a set from Conrad shipped to me in Wisconsin. I did look around and found a shop to do it for me. I now need to find some bushings for the #6 and #7 spot to replace. I was told not to get the new style as it might create gaps since I only want to do these 2 at this time with the other work. Any body know what part numbers to use that are close to stock as for GM doesn't make or handle them anymore thanks.

Thanks for your reply that makes me feel good the shop I am going to said that was what they used to use. I might have to try that thanks.
