There was a metallic blue used by Olds in the early 70s that was kinda similar to AMC blue. It is a nice contrast with aluminum, which I'm sure your LS will have plenty of.

Edit: Crap, I just replied to a 2 month old thread. Engine's probably already painted.

:? It was started in April, 2013. Your probably ok. It took me more than 2 months to gather all the parts and paint my block after machining. Hell, it took almost a month to get my block back from machining. 😀

IMO you should color coordinate with the car. Don't Insult the Olds faithful with Bronze,Gold, or Red, Olds colors on a non-Olds engine. Be original. You could just use a hi-temp clear coat and show off the LS.

+1 ,my 327 in the regal is burgandy(matches the interior), and I'm leaning toward dk blue to match the half vynil top in the cutlass (will go nicely with the aluminum color on the intake)
