anybody know how to make a ball joint remover/installer. i dont have a press and machine shop is isanely high.i heard you can make a cheap tool out of long boltand pipe but icant find a picture or diagram to go off of.any help would be helpful

is there not a parts retail store that rents tools near you?. They rent them for free with a deposit in my area

if you got a harbor freight near you they have the fork you need for about 15.00 dollars. or got to nearest auto parts store and rent one.

yeah i got the balljoint fork but they want 125.oo for the balljoint remover /installer. nobody in my area has one for rent and the machine shop turnaround time is 2 days. i need to have car running by tue at the latest.

thanks for the link harbor freight. they got one for 50 bucks.I can live with that. looks like thats where i am headed tomorrow. It turns out there is one 30 miles from me . i hope this gets me on the road .i just hate spending big money on a tool i will only use a couple of times.

Better to have and not need then need and not have.

If you can, get the balljoint tool from Advanced auto parts. It has like twice the amount of balljoint cups that autozone has. Much better tools to rent in my opinion at advanced.
