Ebay, man!!!! I bought a 19 piece ball joint set off Ebay for $90+shipping.

It does more than just R&R ball joints too. After I was done with the ball joints, I used it to put in my new Polygraphite bushing kit I got from PST. Money well spent.

much better to rent for free no matter where it comes from....just my opinion

I wanted to point out those springs are no joke. when replacing front end components be very aware of the spring and how you are going to contain it.

That said, the first front end job I did I took the lower arm to a shop and the old guy there just took a bfh and hung the arm over the edge of the work bench. A couple swings and turn over, couple more and I had new joint in the lower a arms. Not something I would recommend but they are still in there today. HF has a press for not much more if you have the room. I have used my 12 ton unit for many things over the years.

x2 on the springs..... but the advice about the BFH is just wrong. Hitting a new ball joint with a hammer is a great way to shorten its life span. The center is not strong to handle a good pounding from a BFH. Thats why there are tools designed for this.

yeah i got a sring compresser and if i that dont fit i m going to chain the spring to lower controlarm with a jack underneath.then slowly let down the jack.

your shock will hold the lower and the spring will not come out. You can rest the lower on an axle stand so there isn't alot of strain on the shock
