So my Coys wheels and tires are on their way to my house and now I need to start to think about what is the best way to lower it around 3" I was thinking about some drop spindles in the front to get me close and then cutting the springs. as for the rear Not sure. What are some ideas out there. Maybe air bags all around would be easier. Idk Ive never lowered a car so this will be new to me.

Drop springs and spindles. Id stay away from cutting the stock springs. Unless you just do that until you buy the other parts.

This is my 87 with Air Ride Technologies (now Ridetech) suspension. I have single adjustable Shockwaves in the front with the air springs in the rears. When fully aired out, it is about 5-6" lower than stock and my ride height is about the 3" from stock that you desire.

Now airbags aren't cheap but they aren't outrageous either. My entire kit cost me about $2500 and included all the shockwaves, the air springs and new rear shocks, the compressor, air tank, valves, relays, all the hoses, computer, control pad for adjustments in car, and two key fob remotes for adjustments outside of the car.

It is well worth the money IMO and the car rides and handles good. I tried Hotchkiss lowering springs but they didn't get low enough for me. Drop spindles could possibly get you where you want and if you put some lowering springs on, you may achieve your goal.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I have a set of Eibach springs all the way around and tall ball joints on the the front. Those are Coys C67 wheels painted gold. The pics were taken before the tall BJs. I had more recent pics, but a recent computer crash wiped them out 🙁

xitabl442 I just ordered the same wheels as you after seeing your pics if they ever show up. That was over a month ago and still no show. I have been told a few times they are on their way and Ill call you back with a tracking number and then no call! Anyhow do you have any part numbers for the springs and ball joints? Why do you need the taller ball joints?

Sorry for the delay, I am not on here regularly.
I waited a while for my wheels also, but I was told they were still in first production and he was waiting for delivery from manufacturer. Did you get the polished wheel or chrome? Do you plan to paint the gold as well? I had to order mine specifically with the button centers, normally they come with the spinner caps. I used a lower ball joint from a '87-'98 K1500 and had to ream the lower hole in the knuckle. I would recommend going with the Howe ball joint available from SC+C( http://scandc.com/new/) . A tall lower ball joint will lower your car as it raises the roll center, also reducing bump steer. The springs I got from Summit, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EIB-3803-140/. My car handles very well and still rides great.

Here's a current pic of my car. It's sitting along side the road after the trans gave up so I took some pics. I have a 1" bolt-on spacer in back and rolled he qtr lip for clearance.

I know it's not a 442, but thats with 3" opgi lowering springs at all 4 corners.

Not trying to hijack, but damn that looks great! Do you have any clearance issues or rubbing? Also how is the ride quality compared to stock and what size tires are you running?
