I couldn't agree more and have started collecting parts to put an LS (probably a 5.3) in my El Camino. Picked up a free sbc engine cradle today which brings up a question.... will it mount to the LS engine...if not what do I have to do to make it work? I assume I will need aftermarket engine mount adapters would those mount the engine in the cradle?

I bought a cleanish roller. Fantastic sheet metal, shata$$ed interior as the T tops leaked like a sieve. I had a parts car lined up, and an 68 olds 350 2 pot with the "good" heads in the barn. After pricing out a new top end to bring up the performance to a level I wanted, I decided to go the LS route. I DID run into a few unexpected expenses, but have welder will travel mindset so far has kept most of them to a minimum. Next round will be done differently, and this project has yet to hit the streets, but I am pretty stoked for the day. One big change would be purchasing a complete running doner vehicle with matched components. LSX G-body tech page on facebook has tons of good info for those considering the switch. So far the biggest hit outside of the longblock was the premade wiring harness. Careful shopping is the name of the game with this as pricing is all over the page, and you don't always get what you pay for. Just my .02.
