Hello Gbody forum,

I realize my following questions have been asked numerous times. I looked for a ls1 swap thread and came up with F/A. My computer being dead slow doesnt help either.

So.....

Ive got an 1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic. Thinking of an LS1 as an option (w/auto trans).

Looking for feedback from someone that has done the swap. How do you like it? Are there a lot of clearance and or fitment issues? Any info would be appreciated.

Post some pics if you've got em. Or a build thread link!

Thanks

'87 Cutlass, right? If it is front wheel drive then you are an ambitious man!

I wrote up mine on here in August or so. The truck LS motors seem to be the most plentiful. I got a 6.0 from an Escalade. I used the truck pan and the truck accessories and everything fit just fine [no a/c]. Fbody long tube headers (Camaro Firebird) worked well on driver's side, I needed to "help" the passenger side with a framing hammer. I made a crossmember in my garage and am running an old 700 (4L60) trans.

They are all aluminum so they are lighter and will probably help your car handle better too.

'88 Cutlass Supreme Classic is the RWD version.

Wow, this one goes in the "learn something new everyday" category. So Grand Prix and Regal stopped production by December of 87 for MY 1987 and Montes and Cutlasses continued for one more year?
