LS1 rear brake pad orientation

Do the brake pads go in with the squeal spring towards the direction of rotation or against? In the first picture the spring is 'against'.

doesn't matter, if you put it against the direction the squealer will be louder than if you put it with the rotation

I look up this up a few years back cause I had the same question....

While researching this, more than one forum recommended setting the parking brake adjustment before installing the calipers. I need to button up this axle and hang it on the car, do that, then install the calipers, etc.
