has anyone on here ever done a fuel injected ls1 swap with a g-body? mounts, exhaust, etc.... i am wanting to go ahead with my swap but i dont want to run into any problems that can be avoided. i know about BRP HOTRODS but it has to be a cheaper way to get this f-body engine into the car other than a $300 oil pan, $700 headers and $500 mounts! any help is appreciated...

Yes there are cheaper ways. but they take alot longer. example. making your own headers. Then you would you would need to know how to weld and cut the tube the right angles. But all I can tell you out of personal test and swaps. I wish I had some companies to buy parts to make the swap simple and straight forward. If BRP Hotrods are too pricy. Give some time. I believe some other companies will also make swap possible. If you find a LS engine with the right oil pan you will not need to buy a new one. Also mounts can be found in jag that run web site. crossmember can be made, again if you can weld or have some one you know can weld for you. I think with alot more research you can cut the price in half.

Good Luck

Hello evry one. I new to the site. I working on this very same project. I have an 84 Regal i'm woring on stuffing an LSX into (5.3L). And i'm asking the same questions. For some of this stuff there has to be a cheaper way. I already have the engine all componets to make it run. im currently working on figuring out what to do with the oil pan challange with out kicking out 3bills. Any ideas are greatly appriciated. I was currently looking at reworking the stock pan cutting about 3inchs out of it. But welding aluminum is not fun...
