hey guys im new here and didnt wanna search forever so i figured id just ask if there is any company that makes a complete kit for an lsx motor swap into an 84 monte. Me and my buddy both plan on doing this swap we found a local yard that has a few lsx motors for cheap and figured why in the hell not. i have an 84 ls that i plan on building into a complete sleeper keeping the car as stock looking as possible. i plan on doing a turbo 6.0 my buddy is planning on a twin turbo 6.2 out of a newer escalade with 22" irocs and hes planning on going the carbed route im still undecided probably going to depend on what i can afford when the time comes. what all needs to be changed? also im going with the 6 speed hes going auto what do we need to start buying for this. were building both cars and plan on running against eachother in the end but our main goal is to beat our buddy who is "king of the hill" around here with his turbo chevelle we know we have a long road ahead of us but we have some money saved and i already pulled the trigger and bought the car hes still looking for a suitable ss for the swap... btw heres the chevelle just a short clip but the thing is sick its a 400 small block built like no other with a monster turbo.the vid is literally 5 minutes after he got it running with no tune and no exhaust.

I dont think that kit is worth it. its easy enough to make a crossmember, then just buy motor mounts. main deal is headers really. Cruise around over on ls1tech, plenty of threads on our gbody cars.

yep, I think the brp kit is very pricey for what you get.

The Pacesetter 98-02 F body headers work on G bodies, I used them and Trans-Dapt mounts for an S-10. I fabbed my own crossmember, some people just modify the stock one.

^^ I agree. Keep an eye on craigslist for parts. I've scored a ton of stuff including a 700r4 crossmember for $100 (retail $220), LS engine parts, Eibach springs, etc. Really helps to save a few bucks.

Also keep checking the LS build threads on here. Plenty of good info.

Here's a tidbit: I had to order 7.425" pushrods for my 5.3 due to the new cam being slightly smaller than the stocker. I have a set of Comp 7.400 that are just a tad too short

I plan to do this swap in the future.
