That's true. All B-body LT1's are all iron.
I have an L99 in my Caprice...not a bad motor, but power wise it sure leaves a lot to be desired... factory rated at 200 hp and I think something like 235 ft. lbs... it's not bad if you wail on it and it gets about 23 MPG, which is pretty good for a 4200lb car...
