I'm not sure why Lunati has discounted so many cams, but I can fathom a guess - corporate takeover which is the world we live in. Regardless, there are some smoking deals if you need a cam. I bought an LS cam - the cam card is from Lunati with a reference to Comp Cam, and the invoice was from Edelbrock and it was shipped from an Edelbrock warehouse/

I didn't know that Comp Cams bought Lunati from Holley then Edlebrock bought Comp Cams. Must be a bean counter fire sale going on.

I’ll admit that I have no idea. I thought this might be a scam of some nature, but the cam showed up and every indicator tells me that it came from an Edelbrock warehouse.

Sub $200 for an LS cam is a deal. Hopefully it’s not defective and destroys my engine haha. They have more than just turbo cams for that price.

Since around 2012 or so, Monomy Capital Partners, a private equity firm has purchased Holley, FAST, MSD, Mallory, Mr. Gasket, Competition Cams, Accell, B&M, Hurst, Moroso, Earl's, Russell, QA1, Flowmaster, Hooker, Demon Carburation, Racepak, Super Chips, Diablo Sport, Quick Time, Hay's Clutch, Lakewood, Hilborn, Edlebrock and more. They bought American companies and now, the majority of their products are made in China. Guess what? The prices didn't go down, but the quality sure did. This is what is happening to many American companies and the reason that almost everything that we buy today is poor quality junk.

I hope its not a way of buying a company and then phasing out its product until the company has been swallowed up.
The pessimist in me had that same thought.

Blow out the inventory to point where the product line can be discontinued and eventually the company.

Seen it happen before. The positive side is it’s a deal presently.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

you know, there's a new FinCen regulation in town this year, the BOI report (Beneficial Owner Information). Congress passed it because of the Corporate Transparency Act. ALL companies, even LLCs, have to report who the owners are (individuals).
I'm wondering if the owners of Monomy are Chinese nationals that are trying to bankrupt and shutdown American manufacturing?

Nothing is surprising.

The PA Turnpike is owned by a Spanish company - the tolls have damn near doubled since they took it over and there’s people praising how it has saved the taxpayers.
Does it even seem reasonable that a highway system anywhere in the US is owned by a foreign entity? And what goes on in NY is even crazier.

Regardless, there is probably something to what you’re mentioning.

Get ‘m while they’re cheap haha

Damn, do I buy 1 to hoard just because? There's currently a cam very similar to my BTR stg2 blower that's under half the price.

Back when I heard about this around 2019, the firm was owned by five people and had a total revenue of 99 million. They now have a revenue of 456 million. I don't believe that this is a Chinese owned equity firm , but who knows. I believe that the children basically inherited these companies from their fathers or grandfathers that started the business. If you had no interest in anything automotive as many of the younger generations don't and were offered millions to sell, you would probably just sell it. I don't know what the average age is of the people on this forum, but most young people just aren't into cars anymore. It's unfortunate for people like us. It's getting harder to find new parts for old cars. The people that take over these companies now only want to make parts for cars that they can sell millions of. Try to get a camshaft for a Buick or Olds. The CEO's need to make multi million dollar salaries and bonuses.
