Went to O'Reilly's to pick up a set of Street Fire 5552 wires that I ordered case they are listed "Made In USA" just to see "Assemble In Mexico"! I know this was brought up before in another post about what all MSD made in the US, but come on & be more honest about it. Nothing from MSD that O'Reilly had in stock was not made in the USA. Wires were Mexico, coils, HEI distributor, ignition accesories were CHINA. I was going to use them for being "USA" & able to get them local. I am thinking I should of ordered a Summit or Jegs set of wires instead of using MSD. Now why is stuff listed as made in one location but packaging says somewhere else?

That's just like my Dewalt cordless tools. It had a nice American flag on the box with the wording "Assembled in the USA with globally sourced parts"!!!!

It sucks, but it's the reality of darn near everything anymore. Production, materials, etc are more cost effective overseas! We all know this, it just blows when we get burned like you did! You buy something because it's marketed as USA made, then get let down knowing MSD is probably paying some kids next to nothing to put the stuff together!!!!

I could go on and on !!!!!

Well, I for one do not mind USA made w/ global parts that is business and it makes sense. I prefer 100% USA, but that is hard to do anymore. If it says USA made that should mean Designed here and assembled here. Otherwise it was not "Made" in USA.

Yes it is annoying but they are the only "affordable" quality tool that has anything to do with the USA.

Milwaukee Ryobi Makita and I think even Porter Cable is 100% China made

The coils are made in Mexico because of the environmentalists.

They have been made there for years and years.

I had a hurst quarter stick shifter and the box said"designed and engineered in the usa" then in small print made in China.

Not many things are us made. I try to buy American as much as my wallet allows but sometimes I have to throw in the towel.

Totally agree. It's very frustrating how hard it is to buy USA stuff. Sometimes it's not even possible. Sometimes it feels like trying to push back the ocean.

The Streetfire line is and has always been the cheaper MSD line. It doesn't surprise me one bit they are made out of country.

Well to add insult to injury, my Year One order I placed on June 4th just came in. It was ordered & invoiced as a Mallory 607 4 pin module (been a die hard Mallory guy from the begaining) but got a Street Fire 5596 module! :wtf: I have searched to see if antone still had old stock Mallory modules to go with the new coil I have been sitting on for about 15 years, Year One listed it as the Mallory 607, ordered it, called to see where it was on July 3rd-back ordered, finally shipped last week by slowest means (UPS to USPS to my door), open to be surprised-not the one advertised. By the way, another quality China part (yeah.) If your going to advertise something, sell it not the parent company's other product line. I understand the odds of an aftermarket module being made in the USA is not great but sell what you advertise or don't list it at all. Now if I really want one I'm have to be willing to be violated by the one guy on Ebay that listed at a higher price and rip off shipping.
