I found my missing main bolt, thank god, the bolts themselves arent bent, but the heads are off center from the shaft/shank of the bolt. Weird. ANYWAY, I was wondering if one of you fine gents could help me with the torque specs and engine identification. The only number i could find on the block is the number stamped on the front where the timing cover would normally cover it. I looked it up: nothing. I was told the engine was a '77 and I saw the car it was from, a '76/'77 buick, but it was a gutted stock car so i couldn't properly identify it. I couldnt really find the casting number for the heads either, but I assume it's still there, since they are the original heads, to my knowledge. They seemed to be smog heads as they were the same faded blue/green that my block and pan were. From some searching, I found that from 76 to 77, the bolt torque went down from 115ftlbs to 100. That is a fairly big gap. I just dont want to chance it.

Also, my head bolts, some are corroded and rusted from sitting for so long tilted with fluids still in the block in a barn (built within 10 yrs so no real danger but those cold *ss Iowa winters) so should I invest in new ones? Do i have to change anything if I go to studs?
And my V6 starter and front accessories should bolt right up right?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm just nearing D-Day and I want to be sure.
And would I have to clearance the Heater box thing on the firewall? I remember blake442 having to do that with his swap into that wagon but that was an older engine. ANY help is appreciated.
