malibu wagon roof rack

how do the roof rack mount to the roof? the wagon i might be gettin dont have them but i can get one from a ponntiac wagon at my local bone yard

Under the rail " stands or legs " there is a rubber groment with a threaded barrel.The screws go thru the stand/leg into this groment and pull tension downwards to secure it.
There is a gasket between the stand/leg and roof.
The center rails have a full length gasket and screws.

o ok guess ill find out when i go get the other roof rack.. thanks for the info..

I agree with Blake. Unless the car had a roof rack before, I wouldn't bother putting one back on there. they're flimsy and IMO not worth a sh*t.
My old roof rack ended up in the trash, and I welded up all the holes. I think it looks cleaner without the rack.

If you were wanting the rack to actually make use out of it I'd suggest a trailer hitch instead and grab a small trailer when needed. It'll tighten up the rear rails too...

My opinion is that a wagon just aint a wagon without the roof rack and the tail wing
i say its worth the process to put it on

I suggest that you should bolt it down too....
