Seriously, Hutch's (aka oldsofb username on here) vids are some of the best out there because he's detailed and doesn't skip any of the meat and potatoes. I'm partial to his steering column teardown because he dedicated a section of the video with porno music to me. How touching. :)

As far as HVAC teardown/rebuild for G-bodies, his videos have to be the best on the 'net!

Don't forget parts1, 2, and 3 of ASSEMBLING that HVAC stuff! As well as the HVAC head unit.

Just a quick mention about this piece...study the pores of this mesh "filter" (not really a filter, it's more of a "condensate diverter"). While you don't have to get the GM part, I know you can buy foam products and other similar stuff from the Home Depot and other places. If you don't use the GM stuff, try and get the plastic fiber mesh type (won't rot as quickly like the softer foam) with the rather large holes in it like shown in the pic of the GM part. You don't want to really filter anything, just redirect water droplets, so smaller holes are not your friend here. The idea is you want as much air flow through the evap as possible. But you want the mesh to catch the condensate, and let it dribble down to the bottom of the casing and out of the car onto the ground via "the flap". And it attaches to the DOWNSTREAM side of the evaporator.

I bought just the big airbox gasket. All the other filters I made myself from Lo.. or HD stuff. The pushing in plastic clips to hold the foam filter to the evap should be 4ea, My garage bench ate one!

The kit is not available right now ( backorder?? ), so I may have to do what abbey castro did. I will call Mike after the Holiday, and figure it out.

I waited months for mine. it was at the beginning of COVID and most places were shut down or delivery times were months! Mike's is a good place to do business with, he even bought some of my take-off like new original parts. All I got was the outter seal. Make your own cause its the same stuff you can get locally.

The gasket shows to be in stock. The kit does not show to be in stock. I have his number in my phone, so I'll call him tomorrow and order. Thanks!
