The Monte add says runs, drives, stops does the stopping involve throwing that piece of wood out in front of the rear tire.

Car sat outside threw winter on a sloped driveway, l assume reason!! Some pics l got from the kid it wasent there.

Bingo, l watched that car start out at $5000 2 weeks ago, then drop $500 every couple days.
It's a project at best!
The one add on I have never liked on Gbody's is a pop up manual sunroof, for me either T-tops, hardtop or power sun/moonroof.

Well l prefer hard tops but will deal with sunroof. I got a no t-top rule, but as always a deal over takes all.
I haven't had a t-top car in many years they are all power sunroof cars now except for my hardtop Regal but after being on this forum and seeing the issues my new rule is without question NO VINYL TOP.

Well l never had the no vinyl rule until l did the body work on my 86 Olds. I'm sure deleting the Vinyl an fixing the rust took more time than the rest of the whole car. It was pretty bad under there!!

I got lucky on my Monte the vinyl was installed later so the paint was perfect, no rust but I did have to mig up the holes they drilled for the trim.
I have seen cars on here that look pretty clean but under that vinyl is just a nightmare and I feel bad for the ones that have dumped a bunch of money into their car and then find out later what was lurking underneath.

It looks like the headliner didn't like it either.

Its almost August. Why would someone have an ad with a picture of the car with snow on the ground? I know waiting a week to get the photos developed at the drive up photo booth is a hassle, but obviously ancient photos do not instill confidence in a seller.

We are in Canada, weather shift it could have been yesterday an snowed. Lol

Ya pics are last falls l'm sure, 1 was from spring. The fresh pic he sent me the car still looked good from a distance.

Looking at how well your car turned out I would never have realized how much work it needed from the beginning to get there.

Well thank you kindly. It was really a lot of work. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I first got it. My dad isn't a car guy, so he wasn't really able to guide me on what to do, so I learned a lot by trial and error, YouTube how-to's, the forum, and I got lucky and knew a few guys who were willing to help me out and mentor me.

My favorite flake experience was when I was leaving Iowa. 1986...Was selling my 72 Chevelle, and had it listed at a very good price in the local paper. Guy and his dad came to look at it, and tried lowballing me on it. i gently told them that, as stated in the ad, the price was firm. They said they'd buy it right now for their offer, and i declined. The y then said they had a Maverick to go look at, and would be back if it didn't pan out.

They came back a few hours later, and were dismayed to find that the next looker bought the Chevelle at the listed price, and I even sold the buyer a set of daisy mags I had when he asked if I had any other stuff for sale.

Other one that comes to mind was in '82. Selling a 68 SS396 Chevelle, as I recall I had it advertised at $900. Got a call from what sounded like an elderly woman, who asked me "Isn't that a lot of money for such an old car?" :blam:

Sometimes, you just have to use your head, buying or selling

I do agree though, that MOST sellers way oversell what they have. Not sure if they think nobody will call if they're truthful, or some other reason. I like to undersell, because it makes the buyers happy, and weeds out the flakes/dreamers.
