......I don't know why that's is so hard, to me that proper business etiquette. I've done plenty of body work and paint jobs on the side and I ALWAYS am in contact with the customer so that the job is done right the first time.
GP...Its hard because good customer service requires well behaved, well trained, and well paid, people.... and enough of them to answer the phones, talk in detail to the customer, spend time w/customers... etc. But Corp America has concluded that labor is too expensive and doesnt matter as much as profit....so many companies today assume that 3 people can do the work of 5, which saves them money/increases margins ... but customer expectations arent what they used to be. Shoot...these days, most people are just grateful when they get asked the million dollar question...."can I help you?" :blam:

LOL!!!! Wow, I can't make this up. they LITERALLY bad mouthed realoldspower and the olds442FAQ websites. I swear to god, the subject got brought up on the phone because i asked them about main/block failure with the 403s and they asked where i got that info.

A quick google search pulls up several other forums where the general public is citing poor, unethical service from Mondello. In addition, the BBB site shows a history of complaints. It's really too bad that people like yourself have to learn the hard way.

JRM what do you mean the color would start fading from the gaskets?

Any of the printing or color of packaging will usually get peeled off with the plastic when you open the head gasket. I mentioned the color because i'm thing fel-pro usually has a lot of blue on the packaging that would get all peeled up if you removed the gasket. Re-vacuum packing it would still leave the color/print on the cardboard backing all messed up.

Why do you think i don't want to push the issue with them to hard? I feel gratefull the parts at least showed up, and that SOME of them where right. If you search MY post history on here, you'll see i've really had to deal with allot of sh*t latley. I'm not a sucker, there's just too many dishonest people anymore. It get kind've depressing to even think about it anymore, all of it has pushed me to not even get mad about it anymore, it's like i expect it half of the time.

Anubis, yeah it does suck. I never thought to question there reputation, I've seen there name in magazines. It's that logic that got me in this situation :blam: Unless i'm buying parts off of jesus christ himself i'll do some simple research next time.

Jrm your right, they never even opened them.

We should probably end this topic, enoughs been said. Everybody stay clear of these guys.

Good points...BUT...how many times do we see "where's the cheapest place to buy XYZ?"

Street goes both ways.

If everybody shops based solely on price, you wind up with nothing but Walmart type operations, where the customers b*tch about lack of service, but want the absolute lowest price on EVERYTHING. :blam:

I gotta say for Olds stuff, he's not the cheapest out there, but Bill Trovato has been great to deal with. He did my #5 heads on my 355 Olds, and turned my 350 chevy into a 383. He has always been quite a help and he personally works on everything. I've been to his shop and its just Bill no one else. Every time I have called him for advice he has helped and never been "too busy" to try and help resolve an issue.

There's so much bad news relating to Mondello, it's a wonder anyone orders anything from them. As FE3X said, why press your luck with a disreputable place when there are better options? JMO

Spend some time reading on Realoldspower.com or oldspower.com and it quickly becomes clear that Mondello has some serious issues and they continue to piss people off. They are certainly not the Oldsmobile experts of our time and I would stay as far away as possible.

My point exactly.

I never have ordered from them yet, I plan to get a camshaft/lifters from them in the future as a matter of fact.

Why? Why would you be so foolish as to do that knowing full well they're crooks? Why wouldn't you just get your goods from a place who knows Olds that won't rip you off? I just don't get your logic here.... :?

I have heard though, and I can't confirm if it's true but I heard they repackage parts and stick a mondello sticker on whatever it is, but like I said, I can't confirm this.

Yes, they do this.

I never heard anything bad about Dick Miller.

I don't know much about him or his operation but I know alot of people give him $hit on ROP, so there's most likely at least some issues with him I would suspect.

As far as cryo treating head gaskets, I never heard of that myself, but Mondildo has been known to send you parts claiming them to be something they aren't. Saying they cryo treated something and then packaged it all back up again sounds like a load of BS to me.

In summary; STOP GIVING MONDELLO YOUR MONEY and just go elsewhere!

This is true but in many cases 'XYZ' are actual name brand items that are the same no matter where you buy them. For example, if I wanted to buy a brand new Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and I know I can get it for a better price at 'Freds Performance' over anywhere else then I'm going to Freds Performance. Now if Fred's had their own line of intake manifolds and they were being sold for less than the Edelbrocks intakes, then I personally would suspect Chinese quality crap and spend more on the Edelbrock.

I think there is confusion here, Joe Mondello has NOTHING to do with Mondello Performance.
Joe sold his business to a crook named Lynn many years ago and has since ran the business into the ground and soured his name.
If you want TRUE Mondello you will need to contact the Mondello Tech Center in Crossville, TN (they are building a couple of motors for me) or Bernard Mondello, his son, in So. Cal.
That ******* Lynn has ruiend a legends reputation in this industry.
