so wires dont even need to be run to the transmission? or how would that work than? The gauges are run from the harness connected to the firewall on the drivers side, correct? Im running an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, and the distributor is in... i have the new engine ready to drop back in... just have wires hanging in the bay, from the grommet on the passenger side. I noticed that some run up into the dash from the computer... I would assume I need to keep those? I would trace them right now, but im out of town, i sortve just hit a brick wall here.

you do need a torque converter clutch controller and a new (+) controlled solenoid and pressure switch.
the computer gets constant and switch power from the D/S fuse panel. it also gets signal from the VSS sensor on the speedo.
