Idiot, people think they know how to drive until something happens. That is why there are tracks to show how fast you car is. They won't let you run unless you and your car complies with the safety rules. Guys like these idiots who street race give me and others in here who have modified their cars a hard time with the police. Plus this guy ruined a sweet ride...

Why would he choose to run with his young son being present? Obviously no seat belt or harness. It was a boneheaded move.
He destroyed a nice car, and will probably be facing a host of health issues for quite some time due to his stupidity.

You know I think we have all done stupid things. I used to street race when I was a teenager. I was dumb and had a lead foot. I was a teenager that knew it all. I am 27 now and I would never dream of street racing like I did back then. You simply grow up and learn what you thought was ok back then is not ok now. I can't believe people think it is cool to just set up a drag strip on public roads in a city. There are so many variables of racing, so many what ifs. At a track 90 percent of those what ifs are taken care of. This is natural selection, I dont wish harm on anybody but if you're going to do dumb sh*t like this as an adult you deserve the consequences.
No one is going to argue about street racing not being safe but my first thought was how the heck did the guy get thrown from the car it appears to set up for racing so how could he not have a 5 point harness, unless he was so stupid he did not put it on.
I wouldn't pull out of my driveway without my harness on, well at least he had his kid get out first.

LOL, Your comments made me laugh. Street racing is what all these cars were made for. Camaro was made to beet the mustang. Please dont tell me Chevrolet build a car for the track only. Police know who is who and if youre in the wrong neighborhood known for criminal activity then you should expect to get hassled. It's a tragic event but people do worst damage backing out a parking stall. Hopefully he is okay and is able to salvage parts out his car.
