Hey everyone, is it possible to be one tooth out when installing a distributor and the car still run?, reason I ask is I installed my Dist with the rotor pointin to the # 1 plug and yes # 1 is at TDC, but the car runs, just with no power and cant set timing right.

I thought in your other thread you mentioned that a mechanic set the timing? If you can position the distributor to point to #1 and the #1 piston is at tdc on the compression stoke then it's good.

I am just trying to solve this vibration issue, I don't trust this mechanic, like I said before this vibration was not there before this mechanic touched my car, so last night I checked this out and with # 1 at TDC the rotor kind of lines up with it but it is off a little to much towards the front of the motor, this might be my problem....... I hope. I will readjust my dizzy and wish for the best.
