Not in stock form

yeah i guess 180 horse and 240 pound feet of torque isnt much of a muscle car, i guess its ones own opinon, i like to think cars like hurst/olds, 442s, grand nationals, and monte carlo ss' to be muscle cars

I think their last of the breed expecially when they were alon ein the 80's as that kind of styling and everything. I think it also depends on what gbody as well. I think if you have the grand pric with every luxury option on it, i think its much more of a luxury car, gbodies seem to range from luxury to muscle all at once, i think its kinda unique but not every gbody is a muscle car to me.

they are not (stock) muscle cars, except for the GN/GNX. they were never intended for real power. even the SS was considered "luxury performance". however, since they can be easily modded and accept any RWD GM engine they are definitely hot rods and any hot rod can be a muscle car.
we had this discussion about a year ago.

They aren't in the traditional definition of the word. Traditionally, they are midsize sedans with the large engines out of large sedans and were built from 1964-1974. Cars like the Roadrunner, Chevelle SS396, Fairlane GTA, AMC Rebel Machine, etc. would all be Musclecars by definition. A Nova SS, Duster 340 or Hurst S/C Rambler would be harder to place because they are compacts, but still sedans. Camaros, Mustangs, Javelins, etc. would be pony cars, not musclecars. Corvettes, AMX's, Jensen Interceptors and Cobras would be sports cars, not musclecars. And the Citroen SM would be... err... a French and Italian....something...

They are the classic muscle car platform, ready to accept the engine of your choice. Two door, full frame, RWD, 4-link rear suspension. The chassis easily accomodates dual exhaust, and you can fit some decent size tires within the wheelwells.

Stick a respectable engine under the hood, and they look like muscle cars to me.

the "muscle car" was long gone before the G-body, but they are cars with musle if you make them that way, even the corvette isn't a muscle car so they have a point, still they are great hot rod platforms

Many years ago I used to subscribe to all the "Muscle Car" type mags. Most were stock restorations. The 1970 Chevelle SS LS-6 was considered to be the fastest MuscleCar. I guess a HemiCuda with a good driver could outrun the Chevelle SS with a bad driver but all being equal, the Chevelle was *the* fastest Regular Production Car. Not counting the limited production cars like the (2) ZL-1 Vettes, (69?) 69 ZL-1 Camaros, etc.

The Buick GN/GNX could run with the LS-6 Chevelle. It was a toss-up each run. One would win one run and the other would win the next. Any stock production car that can run that hard, in my eyes, is a musclecar. In the3 late 80's, that car is the EXCEPTION!!!
