New Mexico
Yesterday my Wife and I received the honor of being the proud second owners of a very unique car. This car came to us in New Mexico from 1240 miles away in battleground Washington. The car belonged to an older couple who bought the car new off the show room floor. This car was this gentlemens pride and joy, but he was a truck driver so the car became his wifes daily driver around town. In 1999 the car over heated and blew a head gasket, so the husband saw this as a chance to really go through the car under the hood. The front suspension was completely gone through including brake lines and wheel bearings. He bought a new AC condenser, AC lines, hood hinges, fan belts, gas tank, catalytic converter, hoses, Ect. all of which are among the many receipts I received in the folder. He pulled the engine and transmission and had them both over hauled completely sparing no expense. The turbo was rebuilt and tagged and the engine was bolted to the transmission and reinstalled. unfortunately this man Got cancer and it was from what I understand a short fight. So his dream sat untouched for many years covered in his shop until about three weeks ago when their son finally agreed to post the car on craigslist.
Oddly enough my first car in high school was a 78 monte and my wifes was a 79 monte, when It came time to choose a car build for my wife we of course chose are first G Body. I had been combing the internet looking for the right car and even picking up a great builder along the way to use for maybe parts, when i came across the car I have never heard of. the "1980 T Top Turbo". My love for Regals is already very well known and so when I Found a car that was the two together I jumped on it. I bought the car as a uncompleted car That has never even been turned over, with a trunk full of parts, a folder full of receipts, and my wifes dream of driving the car. it arrived late yesterday evening and the project has begun. this car is beautiful and and very well preserved in every way from the window sweeps to the perfect dash. I have never seen a car this age from a place most fear as the rust states, in such great condition. I am honored to have opportunity to complete another mans dream and bring this Great G Body back to life. Follow this thread for up coming pictures, videos, and conversations regarding this extraordinary build.

Here is a picture of the car in the shop up north where it came from and a picture of my happy wife and her new car.

Awesome... thanks for the offer but I think we will stay with the 80 header but I have other things that I may need between the two monte carlo that I'm building... THANKS

Monte looks great...nice find!

Might want to start a Build Thread in that category on the site. I'll be watching the progress on it.

I thought the turbo montys were rarer than the aero coups, is that correct?
