I have had this 88 since Dec and the end goal is to have a nice street car. The guy I bought her from let it sit for 8 year in the grass and looked like at one time in was sunk in the ground, mud all in the frame. I have put allot of effort to make her right the first time around. I have been putting allot of time doing all the needed things like suspension, brakes and rust repair. I made a post in the new member area but figured I would make a build thread. List of things I have done to date. I started with rebuilding the front suspension all new or rebuilt parts, installed blazer front brakes, cleaned and stripped the frame and under body of car( pressure washed numerous times to get all the mud out of frame), well the best I could with the body still on car, repaired the minor rust holes in the floor (isn’t small pin holes), bed lined the whole under body, installed rear blazer brakes I didn’t need to relocate rear shocks, moser 28 spline axles, 3.73 gears with 28 spline differential. I have hit a spot that it will take a bunch of cash to go forward, engine and paint so the progress will slow down a bit.

Just noticed your thread. The guy you bought your car from, Mike, is my uncle. Car was really nice when he first got it. I tried to buy it multiple times throughout the years, but he wasn't willing to part with it. As it turns out when he was ready to sell, I wasn't in the position to buy and transport it back to Cleveland. I'm glad as the new owner you're on track to put it back together.

I have been keeping him in the loop with my progress. It had a bit more rot then I saw when I was there looking at it, but nothing to bad. The old 307 is gone and is getting a LT1, was hoping to do a LS swap but the clean LT fell in my lap.

I know a lot of you guys trash talk the good ole LT1’s but I came into a great deal on a really strong low mile engine that came with standalone harness and computer, aftermarket ac bracket and compressor, headers and all accessories. I did pull the heads and pan to make sure it was still in great shape seeing it had been sitting for 10 years in his garage. I am getting super close to putting it in the car with my 200r4. I am hoping the 200 will last till I can save up after I get the car running for a t56. Here is a pic of the engine waiting till I get the UMI mounts. I was kinda worried about how the gold would look but I think it will look good in the engine bay.

I am actually thinking about making some fuel rail covers with the Oldsmobile emblem on them
